I can't believe I'm actually starting a blog. But I really want to try it out. Honestly, I don't know how consistently I'll post and I definitely can't make any promises on the quality of my posts. So don't get your hopes up too much! Yet, if you happen to want to learn more about me, then read on! My hope for this blog is to effectively communicate my personal thoughts on life and share my own life experiences with you. I will greatly appreciate any comments from you. I could especially use writing tips because I'm obviously not the greatest writer in world. Yet, above all else, I want to exalt the name of Jesus Christ and glorify Him in all of my posts because He is my everything!
Therefore, I don't know any other way to start off my blog other than discussing my personal beliefs about Him. I simply believe that Jesus Christ is Lord! Though I say its a 'simple' belief, it is an incredibly monumental belief because it shapes my entire worldview. When I say "Jesus Christ is Lord!", I'm saying I believe an infinite God and the Creator of the universe stepped down into time and became a human being who ultimately died on a cross for the sins of the world! (Philippians 2:6-8) That is no 'simple' belief! At first glance, it's absolutely crazy!
But what else are you going to do with the person of Jesus Christ? I challenge you to examine who Jesus is for yourself and check out this excerpt from Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis:
"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.” That is the one thing we must not say. A man who said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”
I will probably rant on and on about the Lordship of Christ because it's the core of my identity. It's my hope and prayer to represent Him well and rightly portray Him as the awesome God He is!
In Him,
Mark
